Best Bath—The Perfect Recipe for Being at Peace with the World

Do you ever reach the end of the day and wish that all your stress and worries would just melt away? After enjoying a great dinner with friends the other night, Cindi commented that she just wanted to go home and put on her “magic pants”. 

“What are your ‘magic pants?’ I asked. I mean, I used to read Mercer Mayer’s The Magic Pumpkin to my kids when they were younger, so I know all about the magic pumpkin, but I had never heard of magic pants.

She explained that they are a special pair of velour pants that are so comfortable that when she puts them on, “All is well in the world.”

I don’t have any magic pants, but I have that same sense of relaxation and being at peace with the world when I enjoy a nice, warm bath using my favorite essential oils.

If you’re like me, (sans magic pants) and need a good dose of relaxation and oneness with the world, here is a recipe for the best bath:

Add a few drops of Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils
Mix 1/2 c. Epsom salts with 1/2 c. Dead Sea salts
Pour all ingredients in warm bath water.

Enjoy a 15- to 20-minute soothing soak.

Along with calming the mind, these essential oils offer physical benefits. A warm bath with these oils can increase circulation and decrease inflammation, reduce soreness and improve movement. And that, as many of you know after a difficult day or a strenuous workout, feels magical.
