Green Cleaning with dōTERRA Essential Oils

Our group in Ohio is having great success with their “Green” Cleaning workshops and classes. They are showing families how to save money AND save the planet with these all-natural, effective cleaners using dōTERRA essential oils. Here are a few of our favorites:

2 c. distilled water
10 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Tip: Shake well before each use.

Mirror or Window Cleaner
1 1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. purified or distilled water
8 drops ANY Citrus Essential Oil of choice
Shake well before use.

Mold and Mildew Cleaner
Pour 2 c. distilled white vinegar into a spray bottle. (OR combine one part 3% hydrogen peroxide with 2 parts water).
Add 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil and 2 drops Melaleuca Essential Oil
Shake well and spray on area. Leave on area for half an hour, then rinse.

  1. I love to use olive oil with a few drops of tea tree oil for wood cleaning. The oil keeps the wood looking great and the tea tree cleans and kills bacteria and any type of fungus. If you don’t like the tea tree smell replace it with lavender oil.

  2. I use 3 cups baking soda with about 20 to 25 drops of essential oil – I use Lemon or Citrus Bliss or On Guard, in a container glass or plastic. Mix thoroughly cover and let sit 12 or so hours. Then sprinkle it on your carpet I let it sit a while – usually 1 to 2 hours, some people do it overnight and vacuum!

  3. I heard the lemon essential oil is corrosive. What kind of container should cleaner with lemon oil be stored in? Is plastic ok?

Does anyone make liquid dish soap or liquid laundry detergent with do terra oils? I’d love some recipes to experiment with before my first DoTerra party!
